MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN PEOPLE’S LIVES. NOT ONLY FOR PATIENTS, BUT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THE PRIVILAGE OF CARING FOR THEM.
We received a call on Sunday morning from a gentleman needing to transport his father from Phoenix to Wisconsin. Harold, a dialysis patient in kidney failure needed to return home to Wisconsin to be seen by his PCP and receive additional treatment.
The transport request was for the next day (Monday) in attempt to keep on his 3-days-per week dialysis schedule. It was Thanksgiving week and flights were limited. There was a large snow storm due to hit the area Wednesday. The Trinity Team worked diligently to make the arrangements necessary to get Harold home by Monday evening.
Flight Paramedics Damian and Casey arrived at Harold’s home bright and early Monday morning destined for Wisconsin. They flew non-stop to Minneapolis and then drove a few hours to Harold’s home town where he checked in to the local hospital for admission able to receive dialysis the following day.
Harold was not only able to make it in time for his next dialysis, he will be with family for Thanksgiving as well as his birthday the following week!
Casey, Trinity’s Flight Paramedic was touched by the experience. He stated, “It was really different being with one patient for so long. It felt great helping him have the peace of mind knowing he will be back home to see his own doctor and be home.”
